Threaded Holes in Stamped Sheet Metal Parts.

You threads in your sheet metal part? Adding a nut is not feasible.
We have options to process a threaded hole in your sheet metal part in a progressive die, this allows us to keep the part cost low.
The advantage of this is that there are no additional materials used that could impact your part's performance for example conductivity.
The part can be processed in a cost-effective manner, weight savings, cost savings as the additional nut is eliminated and the part is processed at a higher cycle rate.
In order to provide sufficient thread engagement we typically add an extrusion, this allows us to create an area with enough thickness to include the required threads.
To increase durability of the thread we use thread forming tools, this method compresses material in the threaded area to strengthen the thread flanges.
