Creating drawings for stamped metal parts or sheet metal

Parameters that the drawing shall contain:

  1. Units and drawing standards.
  2. Material type and condition, for example, CRS ASTM A1008 1/2 HARD
  3. Finish if required, for example, CLEAR ZINC ASTM B633 TYPE3
  4. Punching direction (determines burr side let us choose if not critical)
  5. Call out to specify if burrs have to be removed and or corners have to be rounded.
  6. Angular Tolerance for bends (preferred over linear tolerances)
  7. Critical Dimensions if needed (dimensions that are important to you should be indicated)
  8. Inside radii should be .010″ min
  9. Surface finish if required.
  10. Packaging requirements, for example, bulk packaging.
  11. Grain Direction (let us choose if not critical)
  12. If available please provide a 3D Model (SolidWorks, step, Iges, Parasolid)
