Precision Metal Stamping Tool Configurations
- Progressive Die: Progressive stamping is very common. This tool cuts and forms the component from a flat metal strip in several steps (progressions) to the finished part. (High Speed Stamping up to 1500 SPM) We buid Class A Progressive Dies.
- Blank Die: This is a very basic tool used to cut out a flat components. The part is cut out from a flat strip similar to a cookie cutter. This application is more cost effective than water jet cutting at higher quantities.
- Compound Die: A compound die differs from a progressive die in that every part is completed with one stroke starting with a flat metal strip instead of requiring several progressions.
- Form Die: Form dies are used at low quantities the flat pattern may be provided by EDM water jet or blank die. The form die completes bend of drawn features of the part.
